Undercarriage Cleaning

Hi Guys

I recently took my Corsa 1.3 to get its roadworthy cert so i can sell it, it got through 99% of the test (which surprised me but failed due to a "dirty under carriage" WTF? Does anyone know where i can get this done in the Randburg / JHB area? ive tried google, but could only find some fancy pants BMW place.. too embarerred to even drive my corsa in there

One of the few car washes around me have an undercarriage and engine bay but I am on the east rand.

How dirty is it that that made it fail the test :wtf:

I have read somewhere that one of the car wash places at Northgate have this facility, I'll see if I can find more info tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies chaps, Apparently it's filthy, but i hear its quite common with the older Opels. Prob all the oil leaks

So long since I was in Joburg that I've forgotten names of roads, but travelling from Rosebank to Randburg, the road splits and goes up the hill to Randburg. At the split there is a car wash (on the left) where you can do your undercarriage yourself or get one of the guys to do it for you.

I would love to know exactly what it is that is so dirty about your undercarriage. Only two things I can think of are excessive buildup of mud, if the car lived on a farm, or a HUGE oil leak!!

Long time ago my bantam was filthy underneath and inside the mags, turned out it was the CV joint and I had to have the whole thing replaced.

thanks for all the help, I wouldnt be surprised if the CV's were responsible.... Im not really prepared to spend anymore money on the car itself... Cost me a fortune this year, thats why i need to sell it. thanks again everyone

They do. You drive your car onto a hydraulic jack or something like that. Hand washed.

Correct. The car wash at the garage at the entrance to Northgate on Witkoppen.
