I feel like my PSU is holding back my hardware but I'm not sure, I barely get 60fps in a game like pubg and when I do its not constant.

Msi b350m
Amd ryzen 5 2600
16GB ram at 3000Mhz
Gtx 1060 6Gb

My psu is a raidmax ax-500xt

I feel like its the reason my PC is underperforming

What does msi afterburner/riva tuner say about cpu&gpu usage and frequencies they're running at?

If the PSU was underperforming or inadequate you'd likely have crashes or other undesirable behaviour, more so than low FPS.

What resolution do you play at? Also what settings? Also, which map in PUBG? I have noticed fairly vast changes in FPS depending on the map, where I am and what is going on on screen.

I would rather compare other games then pubg.

What has a PSU got to do with FPS???
It is just used to power your components. Something else is the problem here.
Test a few other games, and also report back on what settings you are playing at.

I doubt he will report back, one of those ask a question then never say another word type of members I'm guessing

I actually wonder how current and voltage drop would affect the GPU, I noticed now that under load my 12V rail drops from 12.49V to 11.54V. I suppose if it gets too low whatever your running would just crash, or the PSU would trip.

Run a benchmarking tool to stress it independently - i.e. not within a game that has its own issues. Check if your results line up with similar systems out there.

EDIT: It could be something as simple as Intel Speedstep Technology throttling the CPU due to something being wonky (bad optimisation in the game, etc.) and thus causing the bottleneck.

So I pulled out my led strip and a few hard drives that aren't used, and actually gained about 5-10fps, waiting for my friemd to come. Over and see if the higher wattage psu would help
