Unfriendly websites

Played around in the usability lab at the NMMU (UPE when I was there) when working on my treatise. The eye tracker is particularly cool :)

Dear RPM. You really don't endear your self to many when you call dial-up users stupid.
Would you mind pointing out where rpm called dial-up users stupid?

EDIT - looks like I'm not the only one waiting for that clarification.

I think voipnow suffers from foot in mouth disease :p Luckily its almost always short lived.

I would rate MTN and Vodacom websites as being some of the worst websites out there:

1) A lot of the detailed information is not readily available without clicking through a zillion links and the their interface is still cluttered.
2) The websites might look flashy on a PC but trying to access the full websites through a mobile browser!!! Insanity. This is really bad considering they are mobile companies.
3) Why the hell can't I go to www.mtnactive.co.za directly?
4) Way to many flashing images!

After working on durban.gov, and actually using all the services they have (check your balance, water connection status, etc) capetown.gov is like going back to the stone ages.

I'm pleased Durban has something positive about their council. I tried to call in a water reading but was told I was too early and should try again around the 15th!!

I do also note that you refer to NMMU but no link !! All the articles in mybroadband show a total absence of links.

Dear authors. Take the time to put at least one link per article. please

Yes! And pictures. I like pictures! :P

computicket's abortion fails on every single count. It doesn't even look good.

Sadly, they probably don't care because they are effectively a monopoly.

So we should be grateful for what we get huh? Like our potholes are smaller than yours type of thing.:o

As if it's difficult to add .pdf onto the end of a file so it will use the correct .exe to load. Who are they employing, school kids?

They only attempted to test FireFox last year. Microsoft got their finger so deep in the pie @ Cape Town it isn't even funny any more. :(
