I'm running a Unifi controller on Ubuntu and last night upgraded from Unifi 6.0x to 6.1.71. I have noticed a significant increase in CPU utilisation, the vast majority of it seems to be Unifi processes. Anyone experience the same?

Luckily I haven’t upgraded yet. I read somewhere online that this update was a bad update full of bugs and crap so I avoided it.

Yeah heard this on the webs as well - i didn't know any better so i upgraded anyways. Mine is running on Windows and there doesn't seem to be excessive CPU...

Waiting for the storm to blow over as the 6.1.7.1 version does not bode well at this stage. I am currently running 6.0.45 which seems to be stable and running well on my Cloud key 1.

Shot. I’ll wait before I update... I see it is in the queue for my updates

Got mine in Docker. Don't notice anything significant here (that first spike is me opening the interface, which seems reasonable), then I just browsed around in the different sections. CPU usage seems okay.

Agreed, I've been monitoring mine, CPU utilisation issue seems to have gone away. Maybe it was just because the install was fresh.

I don't like the interface though, lots of stuff hidden away.
A good summary here, wish that I had watched it before:

Yes, it takes a couple of hours and then it comes down. Its doing some migration scripts that are poorly written.

For the home page I agree, there is a ton of wasted space but apparently you get more detail if you're using a UDM (I'm using a USG), which is disappointing.

I kind of like how they cleaned up the rest of the pages though, they just look cleaner and easier to read now for me. There is missing stuff in the insights menu, but I think that's because this is still "alpha".

If you use a custom dashboard then you can also get a fairly decent overview of the information you essentially after. I liked the one below as a dashboard:
