Uniforum problems

To the original point made, I also have a number of domains that send update requests to one of my email addresses, an address that is not listed on the domain request. They obviously saved and linked some of my details and use that, regardless of what the specific domain request says.

Hi Calvin

Thanks, that answers the second question as to why it wasnt sent to the DNS contact but I am still unsure WHY the person responsible for the DNS should have a say in what happens to a domain name but maybe Im just stupid.

Thanks anyway

Read the part of RFC I quoted again:

RFC 1035, section "3.3.13. SOA RDATA format"

RNAME A <domain-name> which specifies the mailbox of the person responsible for this zone.

ie - the person responsible for actual domain name, not the person responsible for the Domain Name Service (DNS).

regards

Umm - it's to the addresses on the whois aka http://www.coza.net.za/cgi-bin/whois.sh?Domain=<domain> and what you (or you agent/ISP etc) have put in the SOA address.
