Hi guys

I started to study via UNISA last year(2020). This year they have made the modules into year modules.
I want to know what is the experience with year modules.

If I normally select three modules per semester, would I select 6 per year?

6 semester modules = 3 year modules

I usually took 3-4 year modules each year.

a semester module may include 1 or 2 assignments and an exam where year modules will have 3 to 5 assignments and an exam. Generally year modules require more work to get across and generally the assignments build on prior knowledge incrementally.

Not sure what course you are doing but when I did my BSc Hon in Computing a few years ago, any assignments from number 3 upwards would take about 8-12 hours to complete which because I was working full time meant it would be an 8am start on a Saturday and then finish late in the evening. To be fair this would include learning as I was doing the assignment as I never did any pre-learning before tackling my assignments so that would have perhaps shaved 2-3 hours off that time, but for me I'd rather condense that learning in one go and save time that way rather than doing an hour or 2 each night which for me prolongs the study time
