University Wifi

I attend a mid sized university in the United states and the library has wireless routers all around. We are suppose to be able to get wifi and be able to access the network drive, but it seems like every other day I started out connected and then all the sudden I get the message about limited or no connectivity. I know that it is not a result of my computer and am pretty sure it is because there are either to many people trying to connect or one person is download a huge file. So basically I was wondering if someone could tell me how to block this person form the network or give my self priority over them in terms of packets and such from the network. So if you have any Ideas I would really appreciated them thanks.

I'm the only one on my network and I also get the "limited or no connectivity" sign sometimes.

I need to re enter my WPA/WEP and all changes back to normal...

Don't know why this happens...

Maybe they changed the security profile of the network? Or they re-did the whole network and introduced mac filtering ( or at least reset everything and require people to come forward and inform the admin of their mac addresses to be added )

AFAIK the library at UCT uses MAC filtering. Best bet would be to speak to the network administrator. If you are him then i doubt you should be having any issues.

sounds like you net getting an IP address
do an ipconfig /all from the cmd prompt if you using windows and make sure you are getting an address that does not start with 169.
