Hi Vodacom3g
Last week i signed a 24 month contract. The thing is i might go overseas to chlie for some work.
Question 1
Can i get my 3g card unlocked? And How?
Were you using a Vodacom SIM card? You need to try an MTN or Cell C SIM in the data card to determine whether it is locked.when i use the software nad search for other netorks, It picked up mtn/cell c and it says not allowed..
Yep, one cannot roam on MTN's HSDPA network using a Vodacom SIM card and visa versa, one has to use a home network SIM card to access the network that the SIM card corresponds to, this is a function of the SIM card and not the modem [data card].Were you using a Vodacom SIM card? OK, so you have established your card is not locked.thanks. I tried my mtn sim and it works.
If you didn't have a problem with an MTN SIM, you won't have a problem with a foreign SIM.So would i have a problem if i travel.? Suppose i put my there sim inside.
They are not locked because Vodacom believes customers should remain customers because they are happy, not because they are forced to. AFAIK, it has been like this for a long time, there were a few E620 cards that were locked, but no others.Just for intreast sake, Why are they unlocked? has it always been like this?
