My apologies if this in the wrong section. I've been receiving several robo calls a week trying to sell me services. Usually I deal with unsolicited calls by politely (no, really, being nice actually works) asking the actual person on the line to remove me from their call list. However, for the last week or two I've been getting robo calls with no option to inform the caller I'd prefer them to never call me again. Does anyone know the origin of these calls? I'd really like to call up the spawn of Satan responsible and suggest they not call me again.

I just leave the call to run for few minutes and it ends itself. Let them pay for wasting our time.

Thanks man

Hope this works. Will go a long way cos I constantly get this stuff ;)

Pleasure, they are supposed to check your ID number (and I guess ohne number) against the list before contacting you. I have reported the two DMASA members who have contacted me in the past 3 years and they didn't again.

Hahah! good to know! I will keep an eye out for this :D

I've been getting calls from some company, too, day and night. It was an automated message, never have an option for me to be taken off the call list. I have turned them down many times but it didn't stop the calls. I think it's true that true that consumers today have lost their protection from phone harassment. If it keeps up I'll just cancel my cell phone I guess.

Its different companies, not just one. I block these calls now.

I have received another call again today! It's the same company who called me last Monday, trying to sell me a vacuum cleaner. But the caller used a different phone number so I had to listen to their sales pitch to be sure it's them. As soon as I confirmed it, I hung up and reported the phone number to http;//www.callercenter.com. I also had my telephone company block the number.

I want to know if companies think these automated messages actually get them any clients.

I've only ever held on to find out which company the message relates to so that I can know which companies never to deal with.

It is unsettling that they ask for your id number to opt out.

Precisely why I haven't used them.

They ask for too much info, and they've had a database breach before.

Why is registering my cell and email address not sufficient?

I gave solution that has worked for me, family and colleagues. The information provided (like the ID number)is already in these marketers hands, how do you think they can compare it do the list? ;)

Caring suspended, do what you want with the marketing calls.
