Hi

My vodacom 3g signal is very unstable jumbing between gprs, 3g and HSDPA all the time. For some reason if this happens to much my pc just dissconnects me and ramdomly disconects the device. I first thought this was a problem with my modem but I have obtained a new one and same problems. I also have unstable connection speeds ranging from 27kb to 800kb. I'd rather just have 200 or 300kb average speed than the extreme lows.

Which device are you using?

Which version of the software are you using?

I first had the old version of software, less successful than this one. I'm Running the Huwei E220 on VCM 2.2.2.1.

Download VMCLite version 3.2.1.156 from Vodacom's Website. Do the upgrade. Then set your E220 to use a 3G Only Profile.

My signal jumps from 3 bars on 3G to 4 bars on 2G. If I download the new version and set to 3G only won't I sometimes have zero 3G ?

My card only goes to 2G when I have zero 3G signal

Setting your connection profile to 3G Only may let your modem stay attached to the 3G Network.

If not, then your modem wont attach to 2G either.

Like i said, its a 50/50 Scenario. Give it a try?

I'll give it a try because this kind of sucks I'm being overcharged for internet that doesn't work properly. Can't wait until I can convert to ADSL, much less problems, stable connection more bandwidth for less money. . .

Location, Location, Location... ;)

My location is fine for adsl but sucks for HSDPA or 3G or even 2G but I'm stuck with it for 11 more months. . . counting every day. Is there any way I can convert without paying a arm and a leg and most probably everything else I have. . .
