@Cell_C how do you unsubscribe from the spam SMS's from CellC?

Have done the reply "out" thing but they just keep coming

I did not give my permission for you to market to me

How do you stop them blasting an advert in your ear when you make an outgoing call? It's like they're getting pointers from DSTV.

And will that put an end to the outgoing call adverts?
That's just not on
If they wanted to give me free calls for listening to the bloody thing then maybe but it makes me want to make less calls.

Please confirm the number you are receiving calls from and PM us your number so we can add it to our DNC list.

This constant spamming is one of the reasons I got completely rid of Cell C and MTN. We don't want nor did we sign up for that k@k

Has anybody had any luck with this recently?

I'm getting spam messages from CellC to try and get me to buy bundles or electricity.

I've tried:
- Using the USSD codes on the messages (*147*385#). I've done this 3 times. It said it was successful each time, but I still get messages
- Using the web form. I still get messages after that.
- Phoning the support line - it tells me "oops, there was a problem, please try again later" when I try to speak to a human.
- They suggested I send STOP in reply to the messages, but I can't reply because the messages come from short codes, not numbers.

there is one way to stop it if they don't want to - remove your sim card - take a big strong scissors cut it onto a million pieces and then move to another cell service provider - in other words vote with your wallet and when they feel the pinch when enough people do this they might act unless they are as stupid and stubborn as DSTV

is the cell c rep fixing this problem for the people who sent their details???
Hi there

Thank you for reaching out to us.

That is indeed the case. The details we receive are sent to our marketing department so they can be removed from our Distribution/Marketing List. This should stop them from receiving Marketing SMSes from us as Cell C. Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to other institutions and companies that have your details.

If you also need assistance regarding the marketing SMSes, please don't hesitate to PM us the details of your query and your Cell C number so we can assist.
