Unsubscribe from spam sms

is the cell c rep fixing this problem for the people who sent their details???

Use the short code you were told to use then save the messages of being unregistered and the new spam and then report them to WASPA. Don't go chasing after them to do the right thing.

I am also spammed relentlessly with SMS's from CellC. I have dialled the short code *147*385# and have provided my birthdate, and ducked through several marketing hoops, only to receive the message: “Great! That setting was already active. Thank You.”

I have also tried opting out of these spam SMS's by replying with:

Stop
stop
STOP
To no avail. The spam just keeps on rolling in. For each of these replies, I was charged the full amount for an SMS sent. Isn't that supposed to be free of charge when opting out?

I have now filled in the form on the WASPA website, however I have little hope of success, since WASPA does not have jurisdiction over CellC.
