I went to school with a whole bunch of folks that weren't white. Their parents were far wealthier than mine. Thing is when it came time to apply to university those guys, who had basically the same opportunities as I had if not more, were graded on a diffrence set of entrance standards because of the amount of melanin in their skin.

Don't get me wrong. Most of those guys were stellar blokes, the sort I'd still happily have a beer with today. I don't blame them as individuals. I simply understand through first hand knowledge that a system that discriminates using race as its primary criterion is bty nature going to unfairly advantage some while unfairly disadvantaging others.

If you're going to give people a hand up do so because of socioeconomic status, not race.

White people need to jump through hoops, bend over backwards and even work for free to get a chance. Not just walk in and say: "You need to up your BEE rating, I'm here where do I sign?" Jirre, you're all over the place today :o

Pretty simple if you only have to pass matric to qualify for Medical studies where as a white person you need above 90% average?

I honestly don't see why you're even still trying tbh. You know the facts, you just ignore them for the sake of arguing and being shown up each and every time...

Take languages away instead of offering the languages that are most used in the area of the university. Wouldn't it be ideal to cover more languages in universities? In this case lecture halls and lecturers' time is a constraint. Instead of 1 Afrikaans lecture that some people can attend and 1 English lecture that everyone can attend they can have 2 English lectures, which everyone can attend.
 
Ngwe, I wish you'd give it a rest already.

The hard, uncomfortable truth of the matter is that it is your peoples' set-in-stone destiny, for a significant part, to wallow in the gutter because of an attitude of entitlement and backwards sense of loyalty when it comes to choosing leadership in this country. You can break, destroy and take away all you want but nothing will change this under the current trajectory.

The ONLY way forward is to focus firstly on:

1.) Completely removing the bunch of thieves you lot consider leadership and electing a party that at least is held accountable for their actions. This will help to alleviate the hardships you bleat on about constantly with regard to "lack of opportunity" and so forth.
2.) Fixing the shambolic state of education. By following step one you can now begin, BEGIN to fix things from the ground up

Until then, go fly a kite. I, for one, couldn't give less of a damn for the plight of the poor, "disadvantaged", "oppressed" masses anymore - and that sentiment is growing from those you love to hate. You are going to come up against nothing but increased resistance in your current approach so good luck with that. The end result will be fruitless.

Out of 49 pages this is by far the only valid reason I can see. I agree with you, but would it not marginalize the few people that can barely understand/speak English? Would it not be better to share the lecture halls on a 16 hour or even 24 hour rotation? Sure it will mean more professors but you can also enrol more students. I actually wonder why the world hasn't turned to 24 hour working yet... Imagine having a country where everything is run and done 24 hours around the clock. 8 hour shifts. Damn now that would boost the economy beyond measure.

Slightly OT. Just something I was thinking of now :o

As is already the case I assume. I'm very sure about 80% of Afrikaans students take about 80% of their lectures in English anyway. The problem here is without letting it follow it's own course people are being told we will remove it. If they let sleeping dogs lie this would never have caused the shyte storm it has now. Afrikaans would probably have died out own it's own in UP. But no... let's stir up some hate and thrash a few things all while getting a couple of weeks off from studies and being given an aggregate pass rate. Beats studying obviously...
