Upcoming combat games

I love combat games. At the moment the only fight game I have is EA UFC on PS4, which is crap single player but a bit more fun when going 2 player.

I need new combat games and I am really looking forward to Mortal Kombat X, Tekken 7 and Street Fighter 5.

Are there any other great combat games coming out on next gen consoles?

There is Guilty Gear Xrd on the PS3/PS4. 2D anime-esque fighter using the Unreal 3 engine. It's already out in Japan and the US but there's no word on when the rest of the world is getting it. Roster is smaller than the previous games though.

Also another update of Dead or Alive 5 coming out for the PS4. Combat's faster than Tekken and it takes a while to get used to the reversal system.

Beat 'em ups are your Final Fights, Castle Crashers and Double Dragons and the like ;)

Combat implies a war. Mashing buttans until someone falls down is not combat. Neither fighting games nor beat 'em ups are about combat.

Think about it, shouldn't most video games be designated as role playing games anyway? :D

Lol, If you google combat game and go to images, it shows the button mashing games along with FPS games.
Combat to me is any form of battle. MMA is a combat sport, war is combat too. That is why I specified what I was looking for.

Eish! this guy giving me a hard time :p
 
DOA 5 is releasing in the next few weeks on PS4 and Xbox one. I can't find an online retailer showing this on pre-order. Will this game be released in SA?

Injustice and MK9 is what I'm playing atm.
 
Not to everyone's taste but Dragonball Xenoverse is coming out later this month. I'm getting it since I haven't played a DBZ game since Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Was afraid this was gonna happen. The last one wasn't available from local retailers as well. So our best hope is importing the physical copy or Live and PSN.

I managed to find a retailer that will have it by 20/02/2015, I pre ordered

They will also be getting Gealty Gear XRD, I'm just waiting for it to show on their website to pre-order
 
Takealot confirmed that they will be getting al the games on my list but they cannot confirm when it will be on the website to order.
 
Lots of fighting games on sale on the US PS store. Got Guilty Gear Xrd for $20 and Arcana Heart 3 for $6.

Just log in and see. Unfortunately it at 9am Pacific time which translates to 7pm tonight for us.
