Infiltrate a 1970s religious cult in The Church in the Darkness

The Church in the Darkness is an “action-infiltration game” that see you play a former cop attempting to get inside the isolated religious colony of Freedom Town, to check on the health and well-being of your nephew. It's set in the 1970s and “inspired by real-life events,” with very obvious echoes of Jonestown, but what makes it interesting beyond its historical context is that the church may not be what it appears.

Freedom Town could well be a dangerous cult, but it may also represent a legitimate effort to break away from conventional religious strictures. The layout of the church changes with each new game, but more importantly, so do the beliefs of its members and the motives of its leaders.

“Every playthrough of The Church in the Darkness offers a unique version of Freedom Town with different character personalities and a shifting narrative told through investigation, observation, and action,” the announcement explains. “How dangerous are the Walkers? Who are your allies and enemies? How far will you go to uncover the truth and save these people?”

Well, currently waiting for my money to buy Hitman and The Division. :p

I will have to avoid the internet for a while after Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is launched. Won't be able to play it for another year or so :(

I can hope that the game lives up to the hype, not many multiplayer shooters are able to keep their active player base, retaining them throughout the maintenance cycle. It is a team based shooter which is going up against a close-knit competitive market. Though I can quote this,

The new release date puts Overwatch in direct competition with a very similar game, Gearbox Software's wild multiplayer shooter Battleborn, which will be available on the same platforms on May 3rd.

there are much more competition, older games which are still maintained like Team Fortress, CS:GO and newer ones like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and in-depth open-world shooters like Tom Clancy’s The Division and Destiny in which Battleborn (ahem, Borderlands Online) will be more or less positioned.

Tough market…

Yeah, it is a tough market. And they'll likely cannibalise some of their own HotS players...

It's only a re-release,but I'm happy to see they remastered Day of the Tentacle.

Two licences which they need to explore is Full Throttle and The Dig. It is cool that they remastered Grim Fandango and DOTT, but the content is still rich to elaborate upon. It is a pity that the youth has little interest in adventure gaming or else there would had been more titles by now.

Great to see an all new Deponia release,

It released on the 1st, still need to buy the game.

I watched the footage and the game looks epic I especially liked the new take-downs they have. And the Mafia story line is so immersive.

I would love it if the game could alternate endings... I really like the vast open world they have built for the game, I wonder what resources it would need however, probably about 50- 60 GB storage and 8 GB minimum RAM and at least a GTX 970.
