Upcoming Games

Not entirely new, but nice,

E3 2016 - Bethesda has a special surprise for PC gamers who already own Skyrim and all of its DLC or the Legendary Edition on PC.

No one likes having to re-buy games you already own. In this cycle of current-gen consoles, we've seen so many remasters...and it gets tiring. Now with the new Skyrim Special Edition remaster for PS4 and Xbox One, we get yet another remaster of a game that pretty much every gamer has in their library. In order to ease the annoyance, Bethesda is giving a free copy of the Skyrim remaster to PC gamers who already own the legendary edition or the base game and all its DLC.

Good-hearted move by Bethesda.

I would still like to see Morrowind remastered...

I'm in a total lather over the new Zelda game:

Might even consider buying a Wii U on the cheap just to play it.

Also The Last Guardian is finally nearing release after what, like 5 years of development:

Gives me hope for Half Life 3

Can't wait for this.

I just went looking for the Steam price, wondering if 2K will screw us with the Mafia 3 price as they have with Civ 6, and I see it isn't even available for purchase. And it unlocks in 11 days. Wtf?

The price shows as R699 in the search autocomplete, but nothing on the store page.

Yeah, it's weird. I just got it from cdkeys. Much cheaper.

I don't like horror games... at all.... but the trailer for Here They Lie is incredible:

It looks so... Behind the times, though? The animations, the fighting etc.
Behind what exactly? Realistic life like animation & graphics? Because that's what makes a good game?

Thing is graphics have come so far yet gameplay and genuine fun have seen very few genuine innovation. It's good to know a major developer like Nintendo is still completely stuck on gameplay and prefer artistic direction when it comes to graphics. Im so tired of all these brown "realistic" games

Just got ABZU for R150 on steam, it looks breathtakingly beautiful. I'll play that for now

Who will be playing Mafia III over the weekend?

Planning to, but seems there are performance issues. Can't say I'm surprised.

Why are those the only options you can imagine? There's also no gameplay innovation in there that I can see.

ABZU looks great. Want to get it myself.

I agree those are not the only things. In my mind if graphics are realistic they need to add to the experience or atmosphere like Tomb Raider for example. The realistic gritty visuals were crucial to the gritty reboot idea. With Zelda that painting like fairytale works so well with the whole Zelda universe. Some games have "modern" graphics for the sake of it though that's all I'm saying.

Yeah, and that's fine. I like that style. But it can still be modernised, don't you think? Although they're limited by the platform at this stage, as cerebus mentioned.

Suppose it can but im not sure that for example realistic movement would have added anything to the experience. Also keep in mind Zelda has alot of history, some of the "feel" of movement or riding the horse for example can be deliberate as to remind you of games gone past. Like riding Epona in Ocarina of time. The developers are extremely good at this. Play any modern Mario game for example and muscle memory alone will make you feel like you're playing on your NES or SNES, that feeling is no accident it was build to feel that way.

Breaking pots in Zelda has to feel like it always has... Remember? and it will
