Upcoming Games

Definitely a concern of mine that it could be BoTW 2. A big part of the appeal of the game was the exploration. Going through the same map would be a big downer.

But they've been tight lipped for a reason. We already know that they've vertically added to the world, those sky bits look intriguing. I suspect they have changed the world enough to overcome this issue, or at least hope so.

We've seen some pretty games on the Switch. BoTW being a Wii U game initially would have effected development. I'm sure they will get Tears of the Kingdom running better

Here's my guess: the 'tears of the kingdom' is a double-meaning, and refers to some cataclysm that 'tore' Hyrule apart, with huge chunks ending up in the sky. If you look at the map when he falls in the trailer, you can see some big holes taken out of the map, such as right here. So it will be the same Hyrule map, but it's going to be significantly altered. The first trailer also showed some underground bits, so perhaps there will also be more cave exploration as well.

I think the 'tears' can also refer to the tears of light in Skyward Sword, which is indicated in one of the drawings in the beginning of the trailer.

The original game held up well, graphically, but this looks impressive,

they also removed all load sequences, but I cannot remember whether there were any immersion breaking stoppages in the original game?

/On my buy list.

It looks good, but I'm really getting tired of all these remake cash cows, instead of delivering new games.

It's not going to stop, since it's property which needs to derive revenue, but it's at remastering a remaster where I cut the line. At least this game is totally rebuilt, or so they say, but the older Dead Space games used Havoc where this is using Frostbite. All what this is about is to popularise the game IP and the game genre, so that a new Dead Space game or a new game based on the IP can be made and produce acceptable sales numbers (subscriptions are changing this outlook, so active players are also a metric). EA have been bleeding sales, reasons... so this remake is a risk/reward gauge.

Either this IP lives on or it dies with this game. I don't think they're milking this particular IP. Dead Space 3 wasn't as well received as they wished it to be.

I'll highly dislike seeing this game monetised.

Played through the series a few months ago. There are a few loading zone when you get on the tram to go to a new area.

Yeah, remastering started with studios adding wide screen to a game, back then. Now it's title on it's own, where it shouldn't be. Should be a free DLC, if they want to add resolution and textures.

Don't know why Dead Space 3 was badly received, I enjoyed it very much. Played through all three games again, a while ago. Enjoyed all three. Not sure if a remake of the first one is really needed. It still plays great.

Either 2 or 3 had introduced some egregious microtransactions / DLC and just reading about it put me off the game completely.

That stupid Dragon Age origins as well - I bought the game pretty much at launch, then later on in the game meet a character saying that to access some area and do a quest I need to buy some DLC. Fuuuuck that!
I'm glad that BS didn't stick.

The practice is still there just that the quest NPC now only show up once you bought the expansions.

Its the reason I normally stick to Season Passes and GOTY editions. Sadly Ubi still caught me off-guard by excluding a DLC from the season pass... Damn Ragnarök, I'm looking at you.

And the expansions aren't there from day 1, unless it's one of those games where you buy the base game for cheap/free and get the planes/trains/characters as DLC/

I haven't played many of the recent NFS games because of how generic they seemed, this looks like an interesting art direction.

Ja, I saw that. But I don't indulge in microtransactions or dlc's. You can play all three without ever touching microtransactions. What did put me off about 3, was the areas marked for co-op, that you can't access. But still finished it without that too.
