Mission Impossible 7 & 8 Planned As Tom Cruise's Sendoff

Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 are reportedly planned as Tom Cruise's sendoff from the action franchise. Cruise has enjoyed a successful ride as IMF agent Ethan Hunt for more than 20 years following Mission: Impossible's debut in 1996. However, in more recent years, the action series and Cruise's role as Hunt have become more beloved. This really began with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, but Mission: Impossible - Fallout cemented the franchise's status as a current Hollywood favorite. So much so that Paramount greenlit two sequels directed by Christopher McQuarrie and starring Cruise.

Channing Tatum and canine companion's road trip gets off to a ruff start in Dog sneak peek

Talk about starting things off on the wrong paw.

In an exclusive sneak peek at the film Dog, above, Army Ranger Briggs (Channing Tatum) arrives to take Lulu on a road trip so she can attend the funeral of her handler (and fellow soldier). Lulu has a fearsome reputation for being unruly, but Briggs isn't worried — after all, she's sitting calmly and letting him pet her.

"What are y'all so scared of? She's mellowed out big time," he tells the rangers keeping watch. Right on cue, Lulu tackles him to the ground, much to the delight of the men outside the cage.

The buddy comedy, which is the co-directorial debut of Tatum and longtime friend and collaborator Reid Carolin, follows the unlikely pair as they buckle into a 1984 Ford Bronco and race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to the funeral on time. Along the way, they drive each other completely crazy, break a small handful of laws, narrowly evade death, and learn to let down their guards in order to have a fighting chance of finding happiness.

A movie about Enzo Ferrari called ‘Ferrari’ is coming

Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz are set to star in Michael Mann’s new film

A new movie charting the life of Enzo Ferrari has been confirmed. American director Michael Mann will finally get to make his long-mooted film about Il Commendatore with a star-studded cast.

Movie studio STXfilms said: “Fire up your engines. We’re excited to announce FERRARI directed by the legendary Michael Mann starring Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and Shailene Woodley.

“The Enzo Ferrari biopic begins principal photography in Italy this Spring.”

Quite a roll call of talent there. Adam Driver is an Oscar nominee, Shailene Woodley is an Emmy nominee, and Penelope Cruz and Mann are Oscar winners. According to a report from Deadline, the movie is set in 1957 with Ferrari ‘in crisis’ and staking everything on that year’s ill-fated Mille Miglia. Ferrari would win that 1,000-mile epic, but the race was beset with tragedy.

It’s not the first time we’ve heard of an Enzo Ferrari movie, nor is it the first time Michael Mann has expressed an interest in making an Enzo Ferrari movie. (Nor is it the first time we've equated cars and Michael Mann.) Indeed, Mann’s passion for the prancing horse was such that he once made a teaser trailer for the then-new Ferrari California back in 2008.
