Update 8.04 -> 8.10

I'm not sure if you can dist-upgrade from a disc. But if you can, then look at getting Hardy 8.04.1 LTS.
Remember, though, that 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) will be out end of October

you can upgrade from a disk, you need to use the alternate install, not the live disk.

Virtualization

I was expecting something around the 200mb mark. At that point it could tip either way (I've managed to break *nix a few times already)...since it would be 200mb x3 formats versus 700mb iso. But ISO it is then...

Next batch of questions for the clever people::)

How much of the k/ubuntu world is mirrored by the SA server? e.g. Is the newest OO version always there? FF? Last time I checked it looked like only an out-dated FF was available.

What would one use for virtualization if *nix is the host OS? VMWare server? Or is there something better?

One can change the default/first OS choice on Grub, right?

Thanks

Just in response to your question about virtualization... Sun XvM Virtualbox running XP SP2 under Hardy with no problems at all... USB support, wireless networking and seemingly faster than native XP.

Have you tried it?:)

I would love to run MS inside Linux:D. How would the XP registration work?

Where is that toaster kiosk thing? I know its in canal walk, and heard its near the MTN science center.. but where exactly? Is it inside the science center because im not paying to go in lol

Its against the wall, at the entrance. You have the pay/enquiry desk, then to your left, against the wall is the toaster thing.

Thanks man, i'll remember that.
