Sure, but why should they uncap local access? It was never part of the deal.

i'd like someone to give me back the R120 I spent on my cellphone to them yesterday

The last time I checked (last night 9PM) my account was still suspended. Did they reactivate a select few?

3.30pm.
Shaun Green didnt know about the IT Web article, I helped spoil his day by letting him know about it, and rubbing his nose in it gleefully and repeatedly. What was detailed above seems to be the 'official story' for what can be expected in future - I did my usual 'IBurst needs to let customers know what the position from here on is.' But IBurst Management would seem to be putting nothing in writing - as well as maintaining a stony silence.

Are they stupid enough to think that 'silence' is somehow going to make what they did go away, and prevent the growing unease of customers?

I thought Sentech and Winston Smith were funny in their blatant stupidity and overfed arrogance - but Thami and Sassan seem to be the all new Abbot and Costello team..

Pity, as Thami seemed like a decent sort when I met him back in December, maybe the money's gone to their heads?

Ummm, poeple with usages over 10GB aren't getting re-activated unless THEY PAY. Thats what I heard/saw first hand at WBS HQ today. BTW, I did way, way, way over 10GB and now I'm downloading again at 85KB/s :-) Their capping software did work for the last 24 hours, but it suddenly stopp now. Wonder who's next to get suspended!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I told dylan in his face i've got 100GB in my download manager's queue. It's 100% up to them how fast I get that downloaded.

Or bandwidth costs have kicked them in the crotch.

Well, during pre-launch I proudly say that I flatlined the connection for 25 of 30 days. 25 * 120KB * 60 * 60 *24 = 247GB
I hope it cost them a fortune!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny how iBurst wasnt 'available' for comment.

Hmm, waittaminute. Sounds exactly like Sentech did. Later on, they commented lots, when we raised the stink quite a bit.

Nice attitude. Perhaps I, as one of the "silent majority" should send YOU an invoice for my loss of income due to iBurst having to deal with greedy and selfish people like you. All you whingers must accept some responsibility. Do you routinely keep the change when some poor cashier gives you too much back? Do you also help yourself to fruit at the grocer's just because they don't follow you around making sure you don't? Just because iBurst didn't manage their side of the deal properly doesn't mean you can go mad like pigs at a trough - someone always bears the consequence for others' over-indulgence; in this case, I feel as though I have carried the can for bandwidth hogs. Since the abusers have been suspended, my iBurst is suddenly very usable again...

Thanks

Ciao

Zak, you're buying into IBursts story that 'bandwidth hogs' were responsible for any problems of network or speed.

Sentech tried the same story in the past - IBurst have just clouded the water more by mentioning figures of total gigs.

There's no real proof that the 'bandwidth hog' story is anything but a profit-saving lie made up by a company that couldn't set up its network correctly, or deliver on its promised service, and instead behaved like pigs and tried to smear the honest activities of its customers. Namely customers sitting online 24/7 and downloading whatever they want.

IBurst screwed up, and is trying to blame its customers. Now that excuse is used - lets see what excuse they'll use next..

Zak

Go right ahead - you don't have my billing address so where will you send it? I'm not paying for your internet usage anyway. If you want good internet, get the heck out of South Africa!!! If a teller gives me more change than I need, I'd probably not even notice, since I normally don't count it. zaktoo, maybe you should be suspended for a while and you'll know what it's like be to UNFAIRLY suspended!!!!
