Updating to WP8.1

First thing I noticed too. Everything seems alot more fluid and it was quick before hand.
Swype keyboard is nice. Prefer to touch type.
Like that Apps like WhatsApp and Facebook don't need new API's for the moment for their notifications to show up in the Action Centre.
Don't like the fact that they still haven't fixed the issue where in you can't scrub through a song and have to use the FFW button.
Like the Video hub. Separate from the pictures one. Avi and MP4 worked well. Assuming mkv won't work. Subtitle option aswell. Will come in handy during load-shedding.
Didn't think the photo behind the live-tiles would be important but I like it. Who knew :o
Photo hub is not nicely arranged.
Universal search.

All in all. A great update. 8/10. Using it on a L720 and the usual Loading lag because of the 512mb is non-existent.
 
Wonder if this 8.1 will permit the attachment of files from the Office Hub when replying to emails from the email client, presently it only attaches from the Pictures Hub. I do not like to use the "Mail Plus" app.
 
Really a good update. Still can't understand why they haven't implemented direct contact dialing from the default dialing app. Rapdialer is working perfectly but would prefer to be able to type a contact name using the default app.
 
Update went smoothly... I freakin LOVE the swipe keyboard. Far fewer typing errors and i'm actually typing quicker. No major learning curve.

First time i've used a swipe keyboard. This is is an awesome update.
 
I updated to 8.1 but cant seem to find Cortana anywhere? Meant to appear as a live tile but she is not there.

Does your store still work if you do that? I was reading last night that it might (emphasis on might) cause an issue with the store loading.

My store is working 100%. Prices in $ but i have not purchased anything to see what happens..
 
Anyone know where to download windows 8.1 drivers for windows phone. My windows not detecting it.

Store works, but you need to change your region back to South Africa if you want to purchase any apps, you can download free apps

Good luck to all the BRAVE to install this "Developers Preview", having read all the problems with this update on WPCentral you have to be BRAVE as you cannot restore if things go wrong.
I will wait for the official release which I anticipate optimistically somewhere in June 2014.

Updated perfectly fine my side and my phone is much faster.
 
Also no problems to report from me thus far. All apps working and games (well i tried at least 90% of what I have and use)
But yeah I reckon its always "safer" to wait for the official release as most bugs would have been sorted by then.
