My MTN contract is due for upgrade and I'm looking to get something a bit different this year.

I'm pretty invested in the Apple Ecosystem (iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch 3, Macbook Pro, Apple TV) so it is a bit difficult to imagine using something else at the moment, so advice is needed. I have been using iPhones for the last 3-4 years.

I am stuck between choosing which phone to get.
Note 9
S9 Plus
The new Huawei Mate 20 (to be released)
The new iPhones (to be released)
LG G7??
Something cheaper (Nokia 7 Plus, P20 Lite??)

My feeling so far is this, an Apple is an Apple, so if I get the new iPhone, iOS will still be iOS, and my "experience" wont be much different besides some new hardware features.

Then on the other hand I feel that it will be a waste to have 2 phones (I'm not looking to sell the iPhone because of ecosystem) which will offer more or less the same experience.

MTN has a nice deal with the S9 Plus where you get the Gear Fit2 with the phones (I like wearables, hence the Apple Watch)

The Note 9 seems nice due to the battery, but Ill probably wont even use half of its features (SPen etc)

Huawei's are nice but I have read about inconsistencies regarding camera and quality overall etc

SO at the moment the S9 seems like my only option. I am also concerned about future software updates due to Samsungs not so great track record with updates.

Not all Huawei's have quality issues except the P20 and P20 Pro, you can also look at the Mate 10 Pro which has very similar specs to the Note 9 including the battery size.

If you happy with the S9 Plus then go ahead and get it.

If you looking for fast updates then also look at Nokia 8 Sirocco

Stick with iPhones, they are the best for the job and have resell value. I other words, wait for new iPhone.
