Upgrade Android

Jip, but I want to upgrade the gobii. Its really a very nice phone

email Gobii?

I don't think "Gobii" is a real thing, I think Gobii is Kalahari model name Gobii. ( I mailed Kalahari from day 1, but I have never seen a mail from them ever)

When you buy Chinese, you can dream about flashing a custom rom.

Iandale is the only human smart enough, but I haven't seen him lately?

Already own a S5 mrDarkSpectre.

I want to upgrade the Gobii hence this thread

can't find any documentation on the Gobii(?)

Would love to help you get on the Lolipop train

Thank you for trying.

Yea mailed Kalahari again and send them a tweet....

They removed my tweet 13 minutes later.

So yea guess we have the answer.

Edit: I see 1 of the tweets is still there, only the facebook posts was deleted.

Just wondering, if you use something like CPU-Z and find all your phone's specs, cant one search for a device that uses the same hardware and just use their custom roms??, surely this phone is branded as something else in other countries. I'm pretty sure Kalahari did not specially manufacture this phone, its some fake japanese phone that was rebranded as gobii, well that's what i think at least.

Could work, you would just need to make sure it's identical and then there a file in the rom you would need to update.

There mos that 1 file with the supported devices list, which fails the flat on mismatch. You would need to add the correct identifier that's been set in the gobi to match

It's a Mediatek 4135

I would suggest making a backup of your current firmware.
If your phone is rooted, you could follow this Guide

I would love to see the build prop file for your phone.

*in unrelated news,i was successfully able to port Kitkat firmware to a Jellybean phone, although it had the same hardware specs.I think it may be possible with this phone, although Lollipop not just yet for MediaTek Devices*

I rooted my phone using that stuff.

Still have the back up etc. Spflash mkdroid tools etc all still installed.

But have no idea how to manually load a new OS or even where to get one.

To be honest with you,i was unable to find flashable zip files for this phone.
I've messed around with my phones enough to know what im doing on them, what to change and how to change it to get it to perform the way i want to.

I'm willing to port a kitkat rom from another device for you BUT i would be unable to test it as i dont have a gobii.

Have you got a custom recovery installed on your phone?
