Upgrade question

So I'm finally due for a upgrade HOWEVER

If I don't take it, does that mean that my 'current' contract expires and then I go to a month to month basis, still on contract, but I can cancel it with say 1 months notice or what?

My issue is, I'm sorta deciding if I want to keep the contract, maybe get a new phone, but because of money issues, maybe cancelling it is probably a better thing to do.

corect you go on a month to month, but you still have to give one months notice for cancelation .
Maybe ask them to port you to prepaid so you can keep the same number

Go pre-paid for sure. No use paying contract money without a decent phone.
