Hi guys

Im on a Cell C postpaid contract from 2yrs ago on a Galaxy S2. I get 100 free minutes each month, nothing else. Im not sure this contract is still available for new sign ups but anyway. My question is whether i can upgrade to a S4 on this contract, its due for upgrade in 2 weeks' time.

thx

Hi "rakabos3"

You are probably on a Casual Chat 100. We don't offer the package anymore. You might want to upgrade on a Straight up 100 S4 Deal for R399/PM which includes:
100 MINUTES
100 SMSs/MMSs
100 MB + 924MB DATA

Offer is valid until 31 July 2013.

Regards
*DM*

Thanks for the quick response. Would i have to migrate to this package or can my existing casual chat continue into a new cycle?

Yes, you can continue on a month to month, until you decide to upgrade into a Straight Up package. *DM*

Not what i meant.

Can a casual chat continue onto a 24month contract and upgrade to a S4, i.e. my situation.

No, we don't have Casual Chat anymore. You can only upgrade into a Straight up Package. *DM*

You just sign a new 24 month contract, keep the same number, get the new phone, done.

I know i know.... just a bit peeved that the S2 contract is not renewable. Just gonna go to MTN i guess, no more signal issues then

You don't need to renew it, you can just continue it month to month... No new phone though. They SHOULD drop the price through since you will have paid off the S2.

Lets see if they have any interest in retaining a customer, my wife has the exact same contract and phone as me. I asked MTN about reception issues at my place since i got a tablet with GSM from them. They have since installed an antenna on my roof and tomorrow coming to install a cel-fi unit to boost reception in the house. I guess thats how you treat existing customers and retain them
