I have 2 contracts, the 1 is due for a upgrade next month with Vodacom.
I'm on a Weekender (for that contract) and would like to find some specials where I can upgrade to a nice Blackberry.
Depending on how much, I might look at doing a pay in to get the phone.

Anyone know any places?

Anyone know a contact who I can chat to and see what he can offer me?

Thanks!

EDIT: I found this: http://ow.ly/i/4y9r/original and it looks good, but can I get it on my contact?!?
EDIT 2: I also found this: http://www.cellucity.co.za/phones/blackberry.htm and I'm sorta keen on the 8520 but I'd like to try aim for the 9300.

I'll be getting the Torch very soon. I'll right a review by next week if you are intersted.

Here is the first thing you must learn about upgrades. Its a catch.
I am not sure if its all ISP's.
But normally you have an upgrade list and a new subscriber list.
Check and compare - for some ISP's the upgrade list is worse than the new sub list. Cos they consider it a priveledge to upgrade 4 months earlier.
If this is so:
Wait till the contract is about to end and ask about retention deals. They will want to keep u as a customer - so they deals are a lot better.
On Autopage - the difference between an upgrade to new sub is 1k, and new sub to retention is 1k. So i saved 2k by not upgrading.

The 8520 is a good phone, but perhaps you could stretch yourself to the 9700 Bold?

I might be wrong but my understanding is that the 9700 has a better internet connection? The camera is also better (if that interests you?).

I have seen them both and they're both great phones. The BIS makes a nice money saver if you have mates or family on BB already.

I agree. The 8520 is a good phone. My wife and brother both uses the 8520. Also a lot of my friends uses it and no-one has any problems with it. Only thing I'll say (like McT said) other models like the 9000, 9300, 9700 and 9800 has a better internet connection.

If you are going to do a lot of internet browsing then get a BB with 3G / HSPA. EDGE is not fast enough to lots of browsing.
