Upgrade time!

My budget is around R4000

this is my current system:
CPU: AMD 3500+ @ 2.2 Ghz
MB: Biostar nForce4Ultra
RAM: 2x512mb DDR400 corsair
GFX: Chaintech 7950GT

and this is what i wanna get:
CPU: Intel Core2 E6750 @ 2.6 Ghz
MB: any P35 chipset for under R1200 (i was thinking Biostar T-series TP35D2-A7)
RAM: 2x1024mb DDR 800

so that comes to about R3500ish, but i'd like performace ram over the stock ddr2 stuff
I also might be able to sell my cpu mb and ram for a little extra cash.

Ya, so what do you guys think? any advise/recommendations?

performance ram is overrated, stick with brand name but "normal" ram. Rather spend the money on a Q6600.

i just wanted advise on my upgrade, not what you posted

and @ Sapphiron, ya i'll stick to normal RAM.. the price of performance RAM just can't be justified. But the Q6600 is a bit out of my range, i'll get the E6750 and overclock like mad :D i've wanted it for a long time now.

can any recommend a good motherbored for R1000 - R1500?
this is sort of what i had in mind:
Asus p5k, Biostar TP35D2-A7 (deluxe), Giagbyte GA-P35-DS3L

I doubt the advice you get will be much different from what I quoted :)

Any of the above boards are good, personally I would take the P5k it's more pricey, but I have not had a return on the board yet.
 
thank you guys, will take all of your comments into account when making my decision, but it looks like it's going to have to be the p5k, even the guy im buying this from recommended it :)

Although I might go for the cheaper gigabyte if I want to spend that extra money on somthing else... like a fat cpu cooler or somthing
