Hi.
I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 notebook. Its the Dual core 1.6gig machine, with 120gb hard drive and 1gb memory. Graphics is handled by onboard intel chips (which aparrently can support aero effects).
I'm thinking of upgrading to Vista Business, but I really don't want to mess up my entire system, so I was wondering if I could get any pointers about how to go about this in terms of compatibility with my frequently used apps.
I have run the Vista Upgrade Advisor, and it tells me that everything is ok, besides the fact that I will need to uninstall Nero and McAfee before I commence the installation. On the hardware side, my sound might not work after installation. Not all that bad so far, but...
I need to be certain that I can run Pastel Partner 2007 at the very least. Have checked in another thread on mybroadband, and got some good pointers - aparrently I need to disable UAC, and everything will Pastel will be ok. Anybody here able to confirm this?
After the upgrade, will I still retain all applications that were not mentioned in the upgrade advisor? Will my Office2007 installation still be intact? Email in outlook2007?
Lastly, Lenovo fingerprint software (and other software pertaining to Lenovo computers). Will these still function the same as they do now?
If you guys can be of any assistance, I will be grateful.
Regards,
gsw.
