Upgrade VS New Contract

Hey Guys!

What do you think??, Been a vodacom Customer for quite sometime and its that time again when its time to upgrade my contract, but dont you guys find that their are better deals out there for those interested in NEW contracts than for those loyal customers willing to upgrade!!

Shouldnt this be the other way around!!, Take the vodacom website for instance, if you look at the "best deals" options..you can get phones like the
N73 and N80 FREE on Weekender contracts, YET when i enquired the upgrade departments in the week, they told me I would have to pay +- R1000 and +- R2000 respectively in order to upgrade to these phones on my Weekender Package...

Anyone have this issue??

Go to the vodashops they usually work out a deal for you.

Its like this with almost all the SP's, now that there's MNP just port to somebody else and then you'll be a "new" customer.

my advice china look at some of cell c offers maybe mtn just to see pricing and phones because as someone said you can port your number

its time to show cell phone networks that we will walk given the chance

maybe they will change their ways and lower pricing to keep customers

Lol dont take their advice, otherwise youll be stuck with a 3g phone that you cant use!

Heres a hint, be nice to the call centre agent, be a little stern and dont attack the little guy, explain your situation and ask for what you want, maybe he would give it to you

Apparently if you go to the actual Vodashop sometimes they'll give you the new special as an upgrade.

Best options are to go to Makro/Game and upgrade there. They even give you cash back (in the form of vouchers) of about R3000. The contracts are exactly the same as vodashop in every respect - except for the nice bonus from the vouchers.

Apparently if you spend alot, they can give you some sorta discount, but over spend meaning over your tariff charges and over R500, then you qualify for something.
