Upgrading DGN2200M Firmware fails

That firmware gives tons of disconnects and restarts, the only one which works is the original firmware which is .27

So we disregard this warning:

"Please note:
The following Firmware downloads are for local Telkom supplied products only. Please do not update your firmware from International websites, even if the product number is similar, this may cause your product to malfunction."

Yes since I used it on my Telkom Router DGN2200

And you downloaded it from where? How do you flash the firmware onec downloaded? USB? Sorry, but i'm not sure how the process works.

Want the old version or the latest one if its the latest check the quote on my post #20

Log in your router and go to upgrade and locate the file on your pc and then upgrade it, but beware like I said the new ones are so faulty and your router will reset your adsl sync and ISP account so its not worth it just to get the USB to work.

If you want the old working version I can find the link

Ok, so if it's not broken, dont fix it. I'm not fussed with the USB on the router anyways. Thanks.

Hi all,
I have just bought a Telkom branded Netgear DGN2200M router for use with my 8ta Huawei E367 dongle. According to the Netgear site this dongle should be supported, but it does not work for me. Now I do not have the latest firmware on my router, and after reading some other posts on this forum on this topic, I tried to upgrade my firmware. Problem is that I keep on getting a "Firmware upgrade failed. Please check your file." message. SOOOOO frustrating!!!! Is there a log somewhere that will tell me what is going wrong? Anybody had this problem or have any ideas?

The file I am downloading is a .CHK file, but the site says that it will be looking for a .IMG file. Would this be the problem (looks unlikely to me, though)?

Can I just download the stock firmware from the Netgear site, or is there a Telkom version somewhere?

Some info:
- officially the router is a DGN2200Mv2 (note the v2), but the firmware I downloaded from Netgear's site is for DGN2200M since I cannot find it specific for the v2
- I have tried the upgrade via wireless and wired connections, both same error message
- I have tried Firefox and IE, both the same error message

Thx in advance!

Sorry to bump such an old thread, hauled out this crappy router today to test my line, was seeing if there was any new updates/mods for it. I see the source code is available.

http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2649

Look for DGN2200M-2TKSAS

I haven't had time to compile / test (yet) but having a look inside the source I see some Telkom stuff, so I think it's the right firmware.
