Upgrading packages costs?

Hi guys, have a question

I currently run on Telkom's DO2 closer package for R591 per month, I wanna upgrade to their DO3 closer option for R887.

Question I have is because it's pro rata and all, what kind of bill will I be looking at at the end of the month? Will they charge me their double bill for the first month like they enjoy doing?

The reason you appear to be double billed upon changing services is because you are charged, pro rata, for the new service in the current month as well as for the service for the following month (Telkom always bills one month in advance).

I would suggest you upgrade on the last day of your billing cycle. That way you will be charged one day on the new service and then charged in advance for the coming month. You can see the last day of your billing cycle on your Telkom invoices.
