Upgrading to Do3

With all the ISP prices that seem to be dropping I think its about time I upgraded from TI 384k to Do3 (4MB)

Do3 is R554 which excluded line rental (R131)

I currently pay around R550 for TI 384k + line rental, so for a extra R130 odd I can upgrade to 4MB.Right? Unless I'm missing something?

When would be the best time to upgrade - should I wait for the 1st of the month? If I do it like today are they not going to screw me and change me for the whole month?

How long does it take to upgrade?

I tried searching for Do3 but you can't search for 3 letters :( I'm sure this has been covered a thousand times - apologies.
 
You have to wait until the last day of the month and close your account, then wait for the 1st of next month and sign up for DO3. If you don't, they double charge you, which is really pathetic, I know, but hey, it's Telkom.
 
not really ive canceled things through telkom after 1st and they never charged me for the month (3 1 gb accounts and 384k line)

and anyway telkoms accounts work from like 18th of month so you can upgrade it to 4 meg line now from 384k line
 
I'd say wait until October before deciding. There's an overwhelming number of rumours suggesting that line speeds will be increased.
 
i would do it now cause i doubt they will upgrade you to 8 meg for free if you get 4 meg after they did the upgrades

This is also true. If you want to be on 8 mbps, then you should upgrade now to 4 mbps, but if you want to be slightly faster at no extra cost, then just leave it.
 
Depends what you call slightly faster :)

If they bump up 384k to 512k then I'll still want to go to 4mbps.

If they pump it up to 1mbps then I"ll be a happy camper!
