Upload your data to Google Cloud by sending a third party your hard drive

I guess if you're willing to trust your data to google who cares about introducing a man in the middle.
 
I would like to know they are planning to handle the confidentiality of your data.

I searched far and wide for a method to upload a password-protected encrypted .rar archive and then have the server extract it to a cloud drive, but so far no go.
 
And are these 3rd parties authorized by Google or what?
 
I was once in a computer repair shop with a friend buying dvd disc for backups ( was in 2006) and the one guy that work for the shop bragged how he always copy the data of clients hard drive. They had a special drive to keep what they liked. Moral of the the story trusted no one and 3rd party middle man is asking for trouble.

The other day I bought a thin client from the local Cash Converters...
On that drive, I found not only the previous owner's identity, but all his pr0n, his TV series and all the contraband he had been downloading...

The fool had no concept of security, and while the Windows 7 license was affixed to the machine... I guess...he re-used that license at some point this month, because suddenly when I got home on Tuesday the thing gave me the black desktop and that stupid "This copy of Windows is not genuine" crap. At which point I said, Fine, Format C: and put Linux on.

Its not a bad idea and it would be easier to use this to upload 100GB of data than using ****ty south africa ADSL but...
I don't even trust my family with left overs in the fridge, I am not going to use something like this. Too many potential risks and holes
