Upped speeds and new package pricing

Don't believe anything Winston says ! This is the same clown who pissed away his customers "to improve the service".........

He lives in the same dreamland as Poopi and Poison Ivy....................

Has anyone noticed any new packages or speed increases?

All looks the same to me. So much for the 01/01/07 date.

"Winston Smith, Product Manager for Data Services at Sentech, told delegates at the recent MyADSL Broadband conference that the company will launch a service with a 1024 Kbps downlink speed and 384 Kbps uplink speed on the 1st of January 2007."

"Good news for all MyWireless Flexi subscribers is that there will be an increased usage allocation on all current flexi packages – at the same price."

I am sure their last few customers will consider this when their classic package contracts expire and they move across to the opposition.... Once bitten, twice shy.

With regards to speed: last night I was getting a consistent download speed of 80k/sec on single threads (from basically every site I tested on)! Web pages were also loading so much faster. That's way up on the consistent 25k/sec I've been getting for the last two years.

Anyone else experience speed increases?

No. Still the same old speeds for me. Which tower you connecting to ? Are you with Sentech or Nowire?

I'm with Sentech. I recently moved and haven't checked which tower exactly I connect to now, but now live in Fourways.

Yes, line speed has also improved. I did a speed test and it would appear as if the promised 1024kbps line speed has arrived. To think that I am just waiting for my adsl line to be actiavated and then it is good bye Sentech. Too little, too late, if you ask me!!!!

I just did a speed test and got 165.61 Kbps - that's on the slow side for me; normally I get more...

This change was only meant to be for Flexi accounts, maybe if you are still holding on to the old Classic contracts (not sure if is if even possible anymore) then you wont get the speed increase.. it makes sense.

So anyone want to post some more results, maybe even ping tests, I'd like to see just how well it performs now.

I'm still on the classic package :) but changing to adsl next week. Its cheaper and faster

Sentech's headoffice is based in Fourways so you should get good reception in the area :)
