Ups battery backup for router/dstv

As a matter of urgency I'm just looking @ running these 2 devices for now.

I can go full on solar immediately but I'm just holding back. Load shedding does some calm and good to the mind amongst other things.
 
Problem is that those small kits designed for routers are expensive for no good reason, you could get them but they are not going to cater for the 20V, 6A lenovo.

I have this (got it on advise on mybb) and it powers router for 5 hours. Bought a month ago so don't know how long the honeymoon period will last of course.

Need to power PoE switch + 4 reolink cameras + wifi extender, can I not get 850VA ups and just replace battery with Lithium 12v 7ah?

That is true, im playing the guitar again, well a guitalele, and just relaxing more listening to my older music collection again. Ain't nobody got the time usually, but instead of running the genny or cursing the ANC I just plonk on the couch/bed with my earphones and tune out or fall asleep.

Thing is we'll survive despite the ANC we have a long track record of exactly that, they are just killing themselves.. Could as well play Nero and then the [-]fiddle[/-] guitar while watching the **** show burn.

Now that would be around a 300% over speccing - one has to actually look at what the consumption of the router is, not what the max of the power supply is.
I've stopped reading these articles, as they are mostly BS

Overspeccing is never a bad idea.
In example above I'd expect my router to last a certain time so if it lasts longer it's a bonus.
What ís a bad idea is people getting something that's not fit for purpose and then spending way too much on it.

I'd go with 120% overspeccing.

you realise that higher specs cost money?

I'd love to see that - pictures are your friend, especially when it comes to the Gizzu 36 Watt 32 Watt-hour 8800 milliampere hour Mini-Dual Direct Current UPS (black plastic version, with white and green logo) packed in a retail box with power cables and dc cables... that does not have USB, from what I have seen?

I can go on.

You missed the basics when it comes to deciding what to go for (voltage required, wattage required, for how long, adjusted for efficiency and DOD% etc vs the Voltage of the ups and its capacity etc). You missed the potential dangers, pitfalls and gotchas (one can burn out the router if the voltages are incorrect, you need to check check check everything! You did not touch on DC barrel connector sizes and you even missed how powering your router means jack if you don't also power the ONT/CPE or other upstream device)

Agreed.
However, people would probably gladly overspec if it's within their budget.

What I'd be p****d about though, is if someone suggested a product that's totally not suitable for my needs.
