UPS question

Do you need enough time to just switch off both computers or enough time to finish a game during a blackout? :D
 
depends what you want to do, UPS gives limited time to backup and save your work before powering down - generator will let you keep on working/playing - if you want UPS i would say 1000VA for two PC's
 
Have a look at the Generator sticky at the top of the page. There was quite an interesting 750vA generator discussed there for R700 a while ago :)
 
Makro has a special now for R2999 for a generator as for the UPS i suppose R1000 - R2000
 
just remember

that gen cannot be used in doors as its double the sound of lawnmower

so if you are in a place that ppl dont mind noise then go for it
 
most generators make alot of noise unless you search for a camper unit, these are alot quieter and and are quite efficient - putting any generator in a house regardless of noise is not a smart idea.

Can a UPS force a PC to shut downbefore it runs out ?

A 650va UPS is R400 ...

Also on this, what power do an external harddrive and 19" LCD use? (I'm not at home ... but bored, so I'll plan my energy use)
