Urban Driving Consumption

Is the 318i a 2.0?

I also get 8.5l/100km's combined urban + open road at avg speed of 120kph with cruise control on...

Alfa 147 2.0

I've got the facelift and its a 2.0 16valve. I know the pre-facelift is an 8valve but not sure if its also a 2.0, i think it is.

You must drive an Opel, my old Corsa GSI 1.6 does similar mileage when driving in peak urban traffic. Fortunately I upgraded to a Honda which gives me 8l/100km in peak traffic with a 1.8l engine.

opel's do not like city driving :/
a friend's corsa 1.4i does 9.2l/100km in city driving, which compared to a citi golf 1.4i is horrendous

Checked on OBC yesterday 9.5L/100km combined on a 2.8L

I get about 7.5-8 on a long trip. Thats doing an average speed of 110km/h (OBC) from PTA to DBN, a distance of just under 700km.

yeah the freeflow exhaust probably helps for about 0.5L/100km cos I used to get 8-8.5 before the mod.

man, I was cruising at about 140km/h in the rain at night on the way down and a Chev Lumina blew by me. That V8 growled as it passed by

Golf 4 GTi 1.8 turbo, I used to get 7.0 l/100km combined.
BMW E90 325i Manual, I got 10.0 l/100km combined.
BMW E92 335i Auto, I now get 12 l/100km combined.

In the last festive season, I did over 3000 kms and averaged 10 l/100km combined on 335i Auto.

moving up the consumption ladder :D. 335i gets very thirsty when you floor it. I also noticed the same thing with the GTi. The straight six on 325i has been the best of both worlds.

It will be interesting to compare real figures between 335i and M3.

defnitly cruising. i couldn't do it. u musta averaged about 90km/h
