urgent help: Xbox live and kinect update

I connected my Xbox via WiFi to my HTC desire. It prompted me to do an update before connecting to Xbox live. After downloading the update it doesn't completely install. Now I can't use the kinect sensor. Is there any way of hard resetting the Xbox? It's a new 250Gb slim.

Try the following

1: Goto system settings> memory> select your hard drive> press Y on conttroller and than clear system cache and try to redownload the update.

2. If that don't work than you need to delete all updates and reset the 360 to vanilla dashboard. goto your hardrive as above in point 1 and than hit the following keys on your controller: X,LB,RB,X,LB,RB,X
This will delete your system updates and hard reset to last system dash that the 360 shipped with (or last major revision). And than redownload and please consider a usb update see below.

PS: These methods will delete everything but your downloadable content. I have successfully tested both methods. Let me know if it works for you. If still not working phone customer care (freecall number)

Edit: Oh and your kinect must not be connected when you updating.

If you can download the update via PC, I would strongly recommend that than downloading from Live with a cellphone.

Thanks guys. I will only be home by Wednesday to reset and install the latest update. I will in the meantime download the update.
