Dear IS Customer

Internet Solutions (IS) has over the past two days, experienced
degradation of our DSL service that has impacted the delivery of the DSL
solution to our customers. The main reason for this degradation of
service is due to bandwidth constraints on the links that IS has into
the Telkom DSL network. IS had identified a need for additional
bandwidth over a month ago and had accordingly applied for the
additional bandwidth to be commissioned, however, due to Telkom capacity
issues in the area (Rosebank), Telkom are unable to provision the
required bandwidth. This matter has been escalated to the appropriate
Telkom Executive level and IS is hoping for a speedy resolution to this
matter.

Please be assured that IS is aggressively pursuing the stabilisation of
this service, and a team of engineers is closely monitoring the
underlying infrastructure.

We apologise for the disruption to customer services. If you require
any further detail please contact your account manager or the IS Global
Service Centre on +27 (0)11 575 0055

Regards,
Internet Solutions

Much appreciated MrBeep I wonder if I will get this
from ISP.

I really feel for IS at times.
Hampered at every turn by Telkom.

It's time most ISP's come clean when they experience problems.
Keep up the good work IS

I think we need to give IS an award.... in fact - i think they need a whole bunch!!!

- Great customer communications and relations
- Best attempt at fighting Telkom
- Effective competition on ADSL pricing

what else...?

Well its good to see that the bandwidth is a limitation because it means that more people are signing up with IS. Lets hope that Telkom will improve the link timeously!

Guess we can expect the same if the sno is forced to use Telkom infrastructure cause they own the international links.

/me congratulates krycor for spotting what the DOC is avoiding admitting to.
Now - can somebody please open their eyes before the SNO forces them to - proactive action would be awesome.
