Does anyone if the E220 modems come in any other packaging beside the red box?

I'm about to purchase a 2nd hand modem and they guy says he received it in that thick plastic sorta wrapping (I know there's a name for it, but I just can't remember it now...)

He also said it didn't come with any discs but did come with the double-sided USB cable...

As far as I know, it comes in the DVD case sorta thing, and must be provided with the original software (as it contains support information and neccessary software). With Vodacom or MTN you will get the E220 in some kind of descent casing...

Then it MUST be contained in a DVD case... If it is in a good condition then for a VERY reasonable price, then go for it...! You can download the Vodafone software, or you can use the software (VMC Lite) which is automatically installed when you plug in the E220 modem...

Was R1000, negotiated down to R850 @ Web...
He said it was one of the wrappers you had to cut off.

I reckon when I see it I'll know what it is but I guess I'm worried there's fakes of these modems or something. Call me paraoid :p

if you dont come right pm me got one to sell all boxes and cables included only thing missing i think is the cd

sounds stolen... he mighta lost it... but then he could just be honest.

I would stay away.

Yeah that's my thinking too... Or it's cheap knock off of sorts.
Cos I thought it was very fishy that it didn't come in the case and that there's no disc. When he says he bought it new
