Hi Guys,

We are using the Huawei B593S-601 LTE Router at work.

Currently there are no real security/firewell restrictions on outgoing stuff, so employees are having a field day with Facebook, Youtube etc.

I want to restrict access to these (and other) sites, but allow access to everything for certain MAC IDs - fairly straightforward Firewalling, but I don't see a way of doing that on this router.

Could someone please tell me if I'm wrong on this, and how to go about doing so?

I don't run through a server so don't have the option of software based firewalling, and we don't use a different router - everything runs through the Huawei.

Help?

77 Views, no replies - I'm guessing noone sees a way to do this. Next best bet would be a firewall/router which manages the WiFi, which then forwards all traffic to the LTE Router for access?

Any recommendations on a good Firewall/Router to use for this?

Or is there a better solution I'm not thinking of?

First suggestion would be a Mikrotik, based off previous similar threads. Never used one, but supposed to be the best in terms of options and features, but difficult to learn. Apparently also some Ubiquity products that could do this with a simpler setup. Other option would be to get a router that supports something like Tomato (think its called that) that is very configurable as well. Depends how much you want to spend and how easy you want it to be. Lots of people on here than can help with Mikrotik though.

If you have a spare PC, you can use PFsense as well, and route everything through that.

Yea what I've found is that you can do website filtering, like Blacklist "www.facebook.com" or Blacklist a MAC Address. What I am trying to do is more like Blacklist "www.facebook.com", with exceptions for specific MAC addresses/IP Addresses.

I'll repost, thanks.
