US$499 Surface Sells Out. 3 Week Back Order

There could be much more demand than Microsoft anticipated for its tablet.

Neowin says the cheapest Surface is back ordered for three weeks already after preorders were announced and made available yesterday.

The 32GB US$499 version of the tablet is already 'sold out'. I just had to say that differently - for clarity.

Perhaps the noise made by Acer is justified?

I had not tried all the links to see how far they go. I assumed clicking on "If you are not in the US click here" would take you to the international preorders. But, I see the internationals are limited to seven countries (i.e. besides the US).

The latest info shows that there is a 3 week back order for these items.

And Nokia Lumia (WP8) pre-orders apparently are exceeding iPhone 5 ones.

Further, there are over 3,000 apps for Win8 right now (if I am not mistaken).
