US Cop shoots attacker

Apparently you're not allowed to show empathy towards police officers at the moment. The neo "progressive" crazies told us that cops are bad nazi racists who just shoot and kill random innocent people.

Hey look, a criminal who hasn't got bullet holes in his back, has a real weapon on him and hasn't got an officer sitting on his throat, color me impressed

That is the reason why cops need to carry lethal weapons. Tasers might as well be piss against a determined attacker.

I was wondering why (and how he knew) the cop called him by his name (actually his surname).

According to the family the cops knew him and knew he had some sort of mental issue.

Police have not identified the man, but family told ABC News affiliate WISN, the shooting victim was Kevin Ruffin. His uncle Aaron Clayborn told WISN that his nephew suffers from mental illness and the officers in the town "are familiar with him."

I still would have shot him. Let's face it, there wasn't much else the cop could have done.

"We are a threat because the color of our skin. Now if he had to have been white with mental issues, he would have been taken into custody and not taken to the morgue. It's a whole different story because of the color of our skin," said Appleton.

Even when its a black cop - its white's fault.

I feel for the cop man. All the training in the world won't prepare you for some huge dude with two sais running at you and forcing you to kill them.

There are some really shitty cops. But the average cop doesn't want to be killing people.

Ruffin's cousin Sheriyah Appleton questioned the training the officer received on how to handle people with mental health issues, especially someone that's a person of color.

"You don't come to somebody who is mentally ill with your guns drawn in the first place, that's not how you do things," Appleton said to ABC News affiliate WISN.
Well, the dude had no sign around his neck saying "Hey, I'm speshul-crazy, PoC protected and I want to kill people".

I suggest the family was negligent in their duty of care. Just consider why the cops were there in the first place.

Ayy man, reminds me of the Georgia shooting last year. Cop had no choice here.

Suicide by cop?

So no perspective for you what these people must deal with on a daily basis?

Or he would have had a knee put on his neck and suffocated.
The Dallas Morning News obtained body camera footage that was tied up in a legal battle for three years. The videos show Dallas Police responding after Tony Timpa called 911 and told dispatchers he was off his medication and had used cocaine.

But when you are white and this happens, there are no international protests about it.
