US Election 2020

Right, so why don't you want to put in something like voter ID to stop that?

What, to stop operatives conning voters into handing over incomplete absentee ballots?

Yeah, explain how that would work please.

Absolute BS. Stop ignoring evidence and reality. If you have evidence of this then provide it. In fact provide it to the US Senate and I'm sure they will immediately award you with some award because they can't find this evidence themselves.

All you have is Trump and Republicans spewing kakpraat and you falling for it.
Yip, Trump's much vaunted investigation uncovered absolutely nothing and it was rapidly brushed under the rug, just so his base would not get distracted from their feelings that 700 Billion Mexicans voted for Hillary in an election that Trump won.

They're citizens who just happen to not have photo IDs, which is not uncommon in the US. Why shouldn't they be voting if they are citizens?
If you are a South African citizen without an ID, you are not allowed to vote. I don't see why people in the US are any different.

Point is, the US does not have a very good, consistent way of ensuring that everyone has access to a photo ID. Most people of course do have a drivers license or a passport, but millions just don't. If they were to come out with a universal form of ID card - which I'm in favour of - and made sure it was straightforward for all citizens to get it - there wouldn't be a problem, but such a thing doesn't exist.
Just off the cuff of it, that number is wrong.

Voting age population in US:
250,056,000

Turnout:
130 000 000
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turnout_in_the_United_States_presidential_elections

Number of licensed drivers in the US:
227.5 million
https://www.statista.com/statistics/198029/total-number-of-us-licensed-drivers-by-state/

If you look at the turnout vs the number of licenced drivers in the US, there is about 100 million more licensed drivers than actual voters (which is f__king insane if you think about it). Which actually means you are more likely to have a drivers licence than having participated in an election. So statistically, the whole voter-ID causing a suppression thing is simply not on. This is before you take into account state IDs which cover people who don't have drivers licences. And all the other type of valid ID.

And again, all the arguments you can make about how evil it is to wait in a queue to get some form of ID in the US are going to be infinitely worse for people in South Africa.
So you're insinuating that there is voter fraud, it's just undetected and that's your reason for forcing everyone to show their ID?
The the opposition to it is too much to just be a coincidence. And requiring people to show their ID at an election is a perfectly normal thing. Most countries in the world do it.

Would you trust an election in South Africa if they didn't have photo ID?

This has nothing to do with Trump or the Republicans. It has to do with the fact that 3rd world sh!tholes like South Africa manage to have voter IDs, yet this standard is too high for Americans according to progressives. We can ask a tannie in a shack in rural KZN to get a taxi to drive 50km to get a temporary ID without any issue whatsoever, but that is just too difficult for a person living in a large city in the US. Just too difficult.

If there's room for fraudulent voting it would only be Dem's that do it, ...Rep's are honorable and would never consider doing that.

Trump, the beacon of morality is only focused on this because its the right thing to do, and if there's any doubting his intentions all you need to do is look at his track record, ....running charity organisations etc.

SA has a universal ID system. USA does not. In this they are behind other countries. The barrier to getting a proper ID are surprisingly high for rural and poor Americans.

Getting a photo ID so you can vote is easy. Unless you’re poor, black, Latino or elderly.

A federal court in Texas found that 608,470 registered voters don’t have the forms of identification that the state now requires for voting. For example, residents can vote with their concealed-carry handgun licenses but not their state-issued student university IDs.

Across the country, about 11 percent of Americans do not have government-issued photo identification cards, such as a driver’s license or a passport, according to Wendy Weiser of the Democracy Program at the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law.

But Myrtle Delahuerta, 85, who lives across town from Randall, has tried unsuccessfully for two years to get her ID. She has the same problem of her birth certificate not matching her pile of other legal documents that she carts from one government office to the next. The disabled woman, who has difficulty walking, is applying to have her name legally changed, a process that will cost her more than $300 and has required a background check and several trips to government offices.

University IDs are not administered by the state government. Concealed carry licences are.

Just read here:
The BobcatCard serves as the University's official identification card. To obtain your initial BobcatCard, one of the following must be presented:

  1. State Issued ID Card
  2. Driver’s License
  3. Passport
  4. Military ID

Do you think that is any different than South Africa? In fact I would state that in South Africa, that type of thing is worse.

Lets use Progressive logic:
HOUSTON — In his wallet, Anthony Settles carries an expired Texas identification card, his Social Security card and an old student ID from the University of Houston, where he studied math and physics decades ago. What he does not have is the one thing that he needs to vote this presidential election: a current Texas photo ID.
For Settles to get one of those, his name has to match his birth certificate — and it doesn’t. In 1964, when he was 14, his mother married and changed his last name. After Texas passed a new voter-ID law, officials told Settles he had to show them his name-change certificate from 1964 to qualify for a new identification card to vote.
Since that is evidence that voter ID is suppressing votes, lets apply the same process to South Africa.

Sineyile has been trying to have it corrected since 1995 after her daughter first noticed the error. She said that in 2010 she was advised to have her siblings submit affidavits to corroborate her age. "We sent all the requested documents to the office in Mdantsane but till today nothing has happened," she said.

A father who has been trying to get his 17-year-old daughter an identity document for six months, says he has been given the runaround by Home Affairs who now want him to have a paternity test to prove they are related.

Sipho Lafuleni said after his daughter turned 16 in September last year, he decided to go to Home Affairs to get her an ID, but claims he was, on many occasions, rudely sent away with no proper information.

Well there we go, all evidence that photo ID is indeed racist and suppressing poor black elderly voters , therefore it should be scrapped in South Africa as well.

Some gems -

"I just saw on your show and a couple of other people just reported back to me that everyone is in great shape from the standpoint of ventilators, which are very hard, because they're expensive and they're big and like -- it's, you know -- it's -- and they're very high-tech."

"We're way under any polls or any of the models, as they call them -- they have models, and we're way under, and we hope to keep it that way, in terms of death."

"When they bring you to the hospital with this one, this is not having your appendix taken out. It's a bad -- that's a bad thing."

"We have more than 29 million doses, and that's a lot."

"And I was -- I was excoriated by the fake news and by the press, by these people that are bad people. They're just bad people. They don't -- they cannot love our country, I can tell you."

"So, you know, things are happening. It's a -- it's -- I haven't seen bad. I've not seen bad."

That rodeo clown Rudy better step up with all that evidence.

Joe Biden leads Donald Trump by 8 points in new poll; majority believe US is in a recession

Joe Biden holds an 8-point lead over President Donald Trump in a head-to-head match-up for president, according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University, as the former vice president moves from likely to presumptive Democratic nominee.

The poll, released Wednesday, found Biden is the top choice among 49% of registered voters and Trump the top choice of 41%. Biden is boosted by self-identified independent voters, who support him over Trump 44%-35%

Only Faux News.

Pence's office blocks public health officials from appearing on CNN

Vice President Mike Pence's office has declined to allow the nation's top health officials to appear on CNN in recent days and discuss the coronavirus pandemic killing thousands of Americans, in an attempt to pressure the network into carrying the White House's lengthy daily briefings in full.

Pence's office, which is responsible for booking the officials on networks during the pandemic, said it will only allow experts such as Dr. Deborah Birx or Dr. Anthony Fauci to appear on CNN if the network televises the portion of the White House briefings that includes the vice president and other coronavirus task force members.

CNN often only broadcasts President Donald Trump's question and answer session, which sometimes includes the health care officials, live on-air.

Oh so we're back to believing polls again.... because that worked out so spectacularly well last time.

And the leftist media won't learn their lesson either, they will have Biden out in front or far out in front in their polls so that the Democrat voters will think Biden is a sure thing and will stay at home and not go vote.

Soooo Burisma? Obviously some made up thing? Since we have heard nothing about it and the fact that since Biden is now the main candidate to oppose Trump, it would be dominating right wing conservative media.
