Man, these Democrats are dishonest!

Unbelievable!!!

That last minute deal that lacked transparency that DUI Matt is complaining about was worked out between Nancy *and* Steve Mnuchin... You know Steve... He's Donnie's Treasury Secretary.

Kevin McCarthy, DUI Matt's minority leader in Congress said, "Regardless of the partisanship here, at this time in this place, we will come together to put the American public first."

159 of DUI Matt's Republican colleagues voted *for* the bill.

The bill includes free Covid testing, increases medical leave benefits, bolsters unemployment insurance, includes food programs for kids and the elderly and guarantees paid sick leave...

Monstrous provisions, wouldn't you say?

Lets see watch Mitch makes of it. He's coming back from his holiday soon.

Google confirmed that Trump was grossly lying about the scale of its testing initiative
Nothing surprising there. On sky , after his stories they said only 13,500 tests have been done so far because of under capacity.

The problem with having a press conference like that where you are mixing BS with truth is that once the BS gets exposed even the truth gets exposed. Especially when the supposed experts are shaking hands with each other.

At some points it seemed more a promo for a private - public initiative than anything else. Dunno what the rate of the pound was at the time, but the shilling was strong.

Yup.

Democrats don't share the same ideology that billionaire owners of oil companies and hotels should be bailed out every time Republicans tank the economy, while regular Americans are left with the bill.

Not sure what you're on about now. Must be your loser think taking over.

Anyway. Thankfully we have Mitch who is one of the most accomplished senators ever to sort out this malarkey from the Democrats.

Democrats should never work with money. Ever.

I'm beginning to think you're just trolling this thread now.

If you're serious, why don't you go check which president left the WH with a budget *surplus*?

A hint before you fire up the google machine: He wasn't Republican.

Not sure what you're on about again.

One of the other great senators and one of my favourites, Lyndsey Graham had a bad case of TDS as I am sure you are aware. He has been cured.
I am mentioning that so show there is hope for you.
Be strong little buddy.

So, trolling.

Sweet, sweet summer child.

It's adorable how you reflexively defend him at every turn, but let me tell you what really happened yesterday...

The briefing was scheduled for three but started late... Because markets close at four.
He rolled out CEOs rather than doctors or scientists... Because markets close at four.
He didn't take questions 'till after four... Because markets close at four.

He engineered a bounce... Because markets close at four.

Why?

To mitigate losses for big players when they get out of the market on Monday morning.

Why are they going to get out?

Because the US is tracking Italy on Covid infection uptake. They're roughly six days behind... Next week will not be good. The week after will be worse as tests become available and the numbers spike, purely because folk will finally be able to get tested... Something that's not happening now.

The market needs information. They're getting BS from Donnie, but they sure as hell will get it from the CDC, and then the true cost of Covid will come into focus.

No problem for the 1% who will have their money out 'tho. Thanks Donnie.

Also, the market is closed 'till Monday so it can't react immediately to stories like --->

Trump Caught Google Off Guard With a Bogus Coronavirus Site Announcement

More of these are coming to spook investors... To quote a bad guy who isn't orange, "Search your feelings. You know it to be true."

Anyway...

Good chat.

The American economy is fundamentally healthy. The markets will recover soon enough. You cannot destroy intrinsic value - wipe trillions of dollars off the Dow Jones - just like that. Sensible measures must be taken to manage coronavirus, but sense has been surpassed by hysteria.

The Dow Jones will be back at 30,000 by November. When this happens, Trump will say that it would have been at 40,000 had it not been for coronavirus.

^^This, it was just panic, its still gonna be up and down a little as we've seen over last couple of months as each country hits its 'peak', but all in all when all said and done will continue where it left off for now. China opening doors again and starting to ship(hopefully in next few weeks) will help calm it, but then sadly oil will go up as their demand increases, but in the mean time, we can enjoy the cheaper petrol, and maybe get in on some action on markets while its cheap.

Yeah, I wasn't really talking medium to long term, and sure there will be stabilisation in time.

My point was the current volatility which Donnie manipulates with his addresses... A bump on Friday indeed, but If he waives off congress's Covid bill, Monday's going to be crazy.

The market was also fundamentally healthy in 2008. Fact is nobody knows what will happen to the market. I think we haven’t even begun to feel the downstream effects of the pandemic yet. The current volatility is just a response to Trump’s awful handling but in a few months time we’ll be dealing with the effects of industries and events and tourism shutting down, hospitals and medical aids overstretched, and millions of workers being housebound or sick.
