Rightwing militia groups in Michigan plan to rally at the state capitol building on Thursday to protest Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer’s stay-at-home orders that she put in place to slow the deadly spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Thursday’s demonstration will be the latest in a series of protests that started as a demonstration against the lockdown policy but are now generating fears of an eruption of political violence.

The state is currently investigating what the Michigan attorney general, Dana Nessel, characterized on Monday as “credible threats” against state Democratic politicians. Her comments followed a report of threats of violence on rightwing social media pages.

Residents posting in the Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine Facebook page called for Whitmer’s assassination. “Wonder how long till she’s hit with a shotgun blast,” one wrote. Another said they hope Thursday’s protesters are “armed to the teeth” because “voting is too late”.

Also if he is offended by something he should just pm me to clear it up , and that's a bit rich from a guy who begins almost every post about Trump as orange dotard/orangutan/etc.

The GOP and his supporters turn a blind eye to the way he has attacked people from the military that he disagrees with.

The Gold Star family and McCain are the classic examples. Generally it causes a spur amongst his supporters to come out and spin up so much about how Trump is right to do so.

McConnell had declared Monday that Obama “should have kept his mouth shut” about President Donald Trump’s response to the health crisis. But Steele disagreed, tweeting that the former president is entitled to voice his view. He also noted that Trump has “yet to keep ‘his mouth shut’” about Obama.

The president has persistently attempted to blame Obama for testing failures and a shortage of medical supplies during the pandemic and has this week peddled a fringe theory accusing his predecessor of “the biggest political crime in American history” while declining to specify what that alleged crime would be.

A group of Republicans opposed to President Donald Trump is calling him out for a series of maneuvers they equate to a legal shell game to avoid being held accountable.

And they’re doing it with an ad on one of his favorite networks: Fox News.
“Our nation’s founders fought a war to get rid of a king,” the spot begins. “So when they wrote our Constitution, they designed a government in which everybody ― even the president ― must obey the law.”

That led to the creation of checks and balances between the branches, the spot from Republicans for the Rule of Law notes. But Trump is telling Congress it has to go to court to obtain documents and then telling the courts they can’t weigh in because he’s accountable to Congress.
“That’s not how it’s supposed to work in America,” the spot warns. “No one is above the law, and no one gets special treatment.”
