No one is ignoring anything. Did you see the link I posted to show you that the policy doesn't really reduce poverty. Also, sure the restaurant industry suffered no job losses cause they're just passing that cost onto the consumer. Your study does shows that there is some disemployment in 'tradeable' sectors, defined as those sectors most reliant on entry level or low skilled labor.

CDC: Americans Are Misting Their Bodies With Disinfectant Spray and Gargling Bleach to Prevent Coronavirus

The CDC conducted the online survey on 502 U.S. adults in May, shortly after Trump made his mind-boggling and dangerous comments about disinfectants, and published it on Friday. The survey found that 39 percent of respondents had engaged in at least one high-risk practice not recommended by the CDC to prevent SARS-CoV-2, the official name of the novel coronavirus that causes the disease covid-19.


The most common alarming practices included applying bleach to food items and using household cleaning and disinfectant products on the skin. The CDC found that survey respondents were also misting their body with cleaning or disinfectant spray, inhaling vapors from household cleaners or disinfectants, and drinking or gargling bleach solutions, soapy water, and other cleaning and disinfectant solutions.

There's significant evidence that it does, though. And that's not even its main purpose.

In some cases, yeah. However there's also substantial evidence that the increases are very small even when the increase to the minimum wage is large. Offset with the benefits, that's okay.

Which one?

This one found: "Employment effects in food services, in restaurants, in limited-service restaurants and in full-service restaurants were not statistically distinguishable from zero. These results are all consistent with previous studies that credibly examine the causal effects of minimum wages."

Also: "Cenzig et al’s (2018) analysis of 138 state-level minimum wage increases, including those as high as Seattle’s, which finds no significant evidence of reduced employment among low-wage workers, including among new entrants and incumbents."

There's also this: "In recent years there have been important developments in the academic literature on the effect of increases in the minimum wage on employment, with the weight of evidence now showing that increases in the minimum wage have had little or no negative effect on the employment of minimum-wage workers, even during times of weakness in the labor market. Research suggests that a minimum-wage increase could have a small stimulative effect on the economy as low-wage workers spend their additional earnings, raising demand and job growth, and providing some help on the jobs front.[/quote]

I doubt most Americans will check if someone virtue signaled on Twitter for BLM before they vote in Nov. Most young people at the protest will probably not even vote.
