It is CIA - they know 3 years in advance what is going to happen.Did their message get lost in the mail for 3 years?
I just need to stop eating for a day - then I have food for a week.Checks pantry - I already have enough food for 3 days
Well, that tanker exploded the other day - so they were proven right all along. The same US Embassy that warned about a terrorist attack in SA.
How do I take them seriously now?

Everyday is a terrorist attack here with the lovely ANC...Unless you are a CRAP'per....Then its just sheer bliss...The same US Embassy that warned about a terrorist attack in SA.

They could have sounded the warning 3 years ago when we needed. Now they scream about doing something that we've doing for the past 3 years like it's something novel and new.It is CIA - they know 3 years in advance what is going to happen.
Mount it on a trailer. You will thank me later.Quite ironic the warning. I had been away elsewhere in Southern Africa where load shedding was regarded a sa curiosity and, where I was anyway, water always came out of the tap. Back in SA, water slows to a trickle then off, large area. Luckily I had 25l from a previous outage but it wasn't great water - from a borehole methinks and obviously not enough for toilets, dish washing, showering, clothes etc. Luckily only lasted two days but JoJo as a buffer filled with municipal water is now on the cards; if only I could find a place to put it.
I say, act on the warning.
Adr said it takes two weeks to kick start the grid or was he lying againProbably the time it will take to power up the grid again if it falls over.

Basically everybody I know personally has been already doing this stuff for the past 3 years.
You mean stockpiling during corona ? We have 5 Litre of water and 2-3 canned tomatoes as non-perishable food. We just stocked up 5kg extra rice & flour. There was no cause for panic really. Some standard medicine & first aid is always there, irrespective of situation as we have a child at home. Fridge always has 5-6 days of supply so not sure what 3 days is going to achieve. They could have sounded the warning 3 years ago when we needed. three days’ worth of supplies, including non-perishable food, 3 litres of drinking water per day, and medicine and first aid supplies.

prepper : noun (sl). one who prepares.- makes preparations."Prepper" is a mybroadband'ism - from what I can see the alert never used it. They say we should "Prepare in advance for power outages..." and offered "Emergency Preparedness Tips" but that's as close to it as they came.
bro, I am still waiting for zulu uprising for more than 25 years. All these things can wait.Stuff in the fridge won't last long if we have grid failure unless you have solar. Though the panels will probably be stolen in a couple days.
Only safe way is to stockpile canned food and water for a few weeks were nobody will find it.
It was a dog whistle to their own people."Prepper" is a mybroadband'ism - from what I can see the alert never used it. They say we should "Prepare in advance for power outages..." and offered "Emergency Preparedness Tips" but that's as close to it as they came.
That's why I said "we".It was a dog whistle to their own people.
