You think Trump's total paranoia with James Comey about the pee tape is unfounded? There's a reason it's described as kompromat - his cultists can deal with a pres who sexually assaults women and has multiple affairs with Playboy models because that's all alpha male territory. But footage of him with hookers peeing on a bed crosses the squeamish line past a point where most people can justify it to other people. The social stigma is humiliating. Maybe he wouldn't be impeached but his authority would be severely hamstrung.

Yeah, I don't believe for a second that any of his supporters will give a crap about the pee tape/incident itself being real. The ones that profess to dislike his personality, personal conduct etc. but support him because of his policies, will continue to do so.

I mean, he's extremely paranoid and narcissistic about very dumb things all the time.

So I think it's way more likely that the kompromat isn't the pee tape itself, but whatever else they're covering up.

Wow. A sensible post from you. I agree. Well done.

I really disagree. The 'grab em' tape did serious damage to his campaign, and it was the only incident that forced him to make a public apology. In fact apart from that, the public hasn't had strong evidence of his misbehavior. He denied every accusation by Stormy Daniels and all the sexual harassment accusers, and so far it's still mostly unproven - that is, if you're basically desperate to believe anything Trump says and discredit dozens of women with identical testimonies. I know you're a staunch liberal progressive, so you take a view that whatever someone does in private is his own lookout, but the US public is not that way inclined.

Footage of him engaging in wild sex parties only a few years back, as the dossier claims, would cause a massive crisis to his religious base - particularly if it involves some really taboo, gross stuff. Not just that, it would undermine everything else he tried to do, because who can possibly take anything seriously from a man whom the world has viewed in that light?

But the dossier claims that that is the kompromat.

Kompromat and blackmail: Trump

That Trump "hated" Obama so much that when he stayed in the Presidential suite of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow,[8][87] he employed "a number of prostitutes to perform a 'golden showers' (urination) show in front of him"[71][52] in order to defile the bed used by the Obamas on an earlier visit. The alleged incident from 2013 was reportedly filmed and recorded by the FSB[88] as kompromat.[89][90][91] (Dossier, p. 2)

That Trump was susceptible to blackmail[31][73] due to paying bribes and the existence of "embarrassing material" due to engagement in "perverted sexual acts" and "unorthodox behavior" in Russia.[92][52][88] (Dossier, pp. 1–2, 8, 11, 27)

That the Kremlin had assured Trump they would not use kompromat collected against him, "given high levels of voluntary co-operation forthcoming from his team."[73][93][94] (Dossier, p. 11-12)

That Trump had explored the real estate sectors in St Petersburg and Moscow, "but in the end TRUMP had had to settle for the use of extensive sexual services there from local prostitutes rather than business success".[90][89] (Dossier, p. 8)

Well, I disagree obviously, so we'll have to see how it plays out, but...

because who can possibly take anything seriously from a man

I mean... how much credulity can you have left in the tank? :)

Trump VA pick withdraws nomination

The decision caps off more than three days of controversy surrounding Jackson that virtually ended any chance he would be confirmed by the Senate as VA secretary.

The Navy doctor’s nomination was already in trouble when Senate Democrats on Wednesday released a new batch of allegations, including that he provided a “large supply” of opioid painkillers to a White House military staffer and wrecked a government vehicle after getting drunk at a Secret Service going-away party.

The best people, folks..

Lawyer Who Was Said to Have Dirt on Clinton Had Closer Ties to Kremlin Than She Let On

The Russian lawyer who met with Trump campaign officials in Trump Tower in June 2016 on the premise that she would deliver damaging information about Hillary Clinton has long insisted she is a private attorney, not a Kremlin operative trying to meddle in the presidential election.

But newly released emails show that in at least one instance two years earlier, the lawyer, Natalia V. Veselnitskaya, worked hand in glove with Russia’s chief legal office to thwart a Justice Department civil fraud case against a well-connected Russian firm.

Ms. Veselnitskaya also appears to have recanted her earlier denials of Russian government ties. During an interview to be broadcast Friday by NBC News, she acknowledged that she was not merely a private lawyer but a source of information for a top Kremlin official, Yuri Y. Chaika, the prosecutor general.

“I am a lawyer, and I am an informant,” she said. “Since 2013, I have been actively communicating with the office of the Russian prosecutor general.”

Mick Mulvaney Met With Lobbyist Donors While at Trump White House

Mick Mulvaney, Donald Trump’s top budget and financial consumer watchdog, had a hierarchy of access in his former congressional office: first were constituents, then lobbyists who’d donated to his campaign, and then, at the bottom, lobbyists who hadn’t.

Mulvaney no longer has constituents. But according to his internal schedule, he’s continued taking meetings with lobbyists and companies who financed his past political campaigns.

At least eight registered lobbyists and six other executives who donated to Mulvaney’s congressional campaigns—or whose companies’ political action committees did the same—got an audience with the South Carolina Republican when he landed atop the Office of Management and Budget. That’s according to a Daily Beast analysis of campaign finance records, lobbying disclosure forms, and OMB visitor logs dating from January 2017 through September 2017.

The WHCD was supposed to celebrate the 1st Amendment. Instead they celebrated bullying, vulgarity, and hate. They got all dressed up so they would look nicer when they had a hired gun savagely attack their guests. Do they really wonder why America has no respect for them? Sad!
