We've done pretty well for decades without government laws regulating the internet. Nothing changes.

No. Our internet is lousy because our government already has a very heavy hand on telecommunications. "Net neutrality" was a deceptive move by the previous Obama regime to bring government regulation and control. It was a disgusting power-grab by the government. Good that it's gone.

I'm amazed at how little people actually know about these things, it's like they only read the name and go. "O Yeah, net neutrality, that sounds like something we need."

So they're just handing over the regulation and control to the corporations instead. Sounds great! And as far as I know USA's internet is already pretty lousy compared to other developed countries, because of the fact that these monopolies exist, whereas other counties force big ISPs to sell off infrastructure to drive competition. Admittedly I don't know much about the matter though.

Net Neutrality makes as much sense as Income Neutrality - everyone earns the same no matter how much or little they work.

It is fundamentally anti-human and incurably unjust.

The agency scrapped the so-called net neutrality regulations that prohibited broadband providers from blocking websites or charging for higher-quality service or certain content. The federal government will also no longer regulate high-speed internet delivery as if it were a utility, like phone service.

Exactly. The ISPs should be transparent though if they are taking money from someone and favouring certain corporations in a way that would affect the rest of us. They could simply publish their policy about what they're doing online for their customers.

BS, in your ideal world who is going to charge and how will they collect that R65 from me? The ISP, because somehow they don't like myBB im useing telkom, then I'll just move. We don't need the government to tell telkom how much they can charge me. My Internet usage is between me my ISP and the sites I visit, it has nothing to do with Zuma and his friends.
